Kangaroos Have Joeys

In this new large format board book, Kangaroos Have Joeys learn the names of twenty-four animals and their babies in this simple rhyming text. Notes at the end enhance the experience, with facts about the habitats of each of the featured animals. Written by Stella Blackstone, and beautifully illustrated by Philippa-Alys Browne, it is a wonderful companion to their Barefoot Books collaboration African Animals ABC now also available in large format board book, as well as in paperback.

Fund raisers are a perfect opportunity to bring quality books into your home and help the community at the same time. You can contribute to this and other fundraisers through my Barefoot Books web-site. Please contact me if you are interested in a fundraiser for your school or group.

Thank You

And a very big Thank You goes out to everyone who contributed to my fundrasier for the FUTURE MSAD 3 Capital Campaign for the Mount View School Performing Arts Center. They had set out a five year plan to raise $500,000 and in just seventeen months, they were able to raise over $624,000!!! Congratulations! I am so honored to have been a part of the campaign, as I deeply belive music, dance, theater, and art, in it's many many forms, is essential to feeding our souls... both personally as well as that of the community, and that becomes a very beautiful way of nurturing our children & our planet.

Raising Readers

I'd also like to remind folks that, through my doula practice, Mothers Moon, I am veryvery proud to be part of the raising readers program. When a mother chooses me as her doula, I get to present her with a beautiful canvas tote with a selection of books, a growth chart, and information about the raising readers program. Sometimes, I also have the chance to read a little something from them to the new child or older siblings! It's such a wonderful program! Families that schedule well-child visits with other particapating caregivers also will be given two Barefoot Books titles as well as a selection of other age/developmental stage books, from baby to toddler to pre-schooler!
